Of all the places men can meet single women, Coed Sports Leagues rank among the best.

Coed leagues are filled with tons of singles, all looking to socialize and meet new people. The atmosphere is usually laid back, and many leagues are “beer leagues,” meaning people are there for the drinks just as much as the game itself.

When you meet a woman at the city beer league, there isn’t pressure like if you meet her at a bar. Recreation sports offer natural opportunities to introduce yourself, so it doesn’t feel forced and awkward.

The women also tend to be more open to conversation because they don’t expect you to try and take them home later (even if you might be). Coed leagues are a must if you’re sick of trying to meet women and bars and on dating sites.

Involve The Ladies

Many women feel left out in sports leagues, so make sure to include female players.

Men get competitive and naturally focus on passing or communicating with other men because they’re the best players. Social sports leagues are meant to be fun, not hyper-competitive, so include women as much as possible.

It makes them feel appreciated and provides an opportunity to communicate.

If you notice someone being left out, offer them a chance to make a play, even if someone else is more capable! The idea is for everyone to have a positive experience.

Try this after she makes a good play:

Damn. This girl is a menace!” with a smile

OR

Wow, I’m glad you’re on my team!”

Let the Flirting Occur Naturally

The best-case scenario is that things feel as natural as possible.

You want to find opportunities to hint at attraction without interrupting the natural cycle of things. If the prospect doesn’t come, don’t force it. It’s much better to be patient.

The best way is to let the game bring opportunities to you.

If she tags you out during a game of kickball or softball, use this line:

You’re going to pay for that later,” with a smile. Then introduce yourself after the game.

If it’s a team, you already played once:

Oh shit, not this girl again,” with a smile.

Pro Tip: Anytime you’re introducing sarcasm, make sure to smile. Otherwise, people with think you’re being a jerk.

Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously

There’s a place to be super competitive, but it generally isn’t the coed beer leagues.

People are more concerned with having a good time.

People are there for laughs and friends, not to hear Josh screaming at Rebecca because she didn’t run through first base. It’s better to perform well, but not at the cost of acting like a “try-hard.”

Don’t clam up and be embarrassed if you make a bad play. Find a way to laugh it off and keep a smile. It shows confidence, and women love confidence.

Invite The Other Team Out for Drinks

When the end of the game rolls around, feel free to invite the opposition out for drinks.

It shows you’re confident enough to be inclusive and creates an opportunity to introduce yourself to the women on the other team.

Women are constantly assessing men by where they rank socially. If you can win over the men on the other team, it shows women that you are a man of value, confidence, and social prowess. These are all these women find attractive.

Most coed sports have a designated meet-up after the games. Talk to your team managers or recreation office to find out where the after-party is.

Play The Infield

If you’re manning a base, you’ll have way more opportunities to flirt than the outfielders.

If a woman gets on base where you’re playing, you can try saying something provocative like:

You“Nice Hit” (with a grin like you’re still bitter because she’s your opponent)
Her“Thanks”
You“I’ve got my eye on you” (make eye contact and look up and down with an almost suspicious look.)

This will hint towards attraction and build some sexual tension. She’ll be eager to talk to you later, trust me.

Pro Tip: If you’re not an experienced player, pick a league that’s not competitive. Coed teams still want to win games, and infield positions are considered the skill positions in baseball, softball, and kickball.

Join With Friends

Having a couple of buddies join the league with you is always good.

Tap into your social circle and rally some of the single guys. Unless you’re ridiculously good at making friends, joining as a loner can make it challenging to meet women. The recreation department will assign you to a random team, and you’ll have no foundation of friends to lean on.

It’s like being a free agent and walking into the locker room for the first time. Then it comes down to what you can do on the field to impress.

Join New Teams

Pick a different team each time if you plan on playing multiple years.

This is more than just an excellent way to meet women. It’s a great way to expand your social network.

Try switching up the sports too. There are kickball leagues, soccer leagues, kickball leagues, softball leagues, and even ultimate frisbee.

My favorite recreational league is kickball.

Kickball leagues are usually beer-in-hand, meaning you must hold a beer while playing. It makes for a very relaxed environment, even in competitive leagues.

Take The Initiative

Assert yourself as an active member of the team.

Some leagues require an email address when putting together the team roster. Try sending out an email to your team letting everyone know you’re excited about a fun season, and make a funny reference to the sport you’ll be playing.

When the league starts, be proactive in introducing yourself to everyone and asking many questions. Don’t waste any time getting to know your squad. If you can win over the group, the women will naturally find you more attractive.
